The fishing has been excellent lately. It seems
that everything has been biting as long you have live bait. This has been
the best summer snook fishing in a few years. We have been averaging 15
to 25 fish per day with some real monsters. Last week I had 2 fish over
40 inches and Capt. Shawn has had quit a few big ones himself. We are finally
starting to catch a few more redfish but most of them are slot size fish
21 to 25 inches.
The trout fishing is still holding strong and we are catching plenty of keeper fish, most of the bigger ones are coming to live bait.
The permit fishing has been really spotty this year with some good days but they are very inconsistent. The best day so far has been 18 permit! I have also had several on the fly as well.
My fly fishing guys have really been enjoying the 12 to 15lb little tunny on flies. There is a smorgasboard of Spanish mackerel out there with a few good size kings mixed in.
For some real excitement we have been going to near shore reefs and hooking onto giant Jew fish, some as large as 600 lbs. The 100 to 150 pounders are the only real manageable ones. It's getting hot out there so bring plenty of water. The fish are still biting and you are going to need the refreshment.
Hope you have enjoyed the report, if your interested in an enjoyable day of fishing give us a call.
See you on the water!
